Backgroud info:

Batik Bone Beads, Recycled Glass Beads + Pyrite

Batik Bone Beads are hand dyed beads from Kenya, Africa. The dying method is known as "batik", which is a wax relief process. The design on these is an interesting "SWIRL" design, with the pattern going all the way around the bead.

Recycled glass beads are a type of indigenously produced African bead from Ghana in West Africa. These beautiful recycled beads are made using an old method that has been used for centuries. The glass itself is derived from a variety of recycled sources including old beverage and medicine bottles. The procedure for making the beads consists of a number of steps whereby powdered glass is poured into molds of clay and baked in a specialized oven. These beads are produced in large part by the Krobo tribe and through recycling glass are environmentally friendly.

Pyrite is a shiny, brass-colored stone often used for abundance, confidence, and protection. It's also known as fool's gold because its color and metallic luster have sometimes caused people to mistake it for gold. The name pyrite comes from the Greek word for fire, and it can emit sparks when struck.

Caring for your bracelet...

Stretch bracelet do not have eternally elastic. Slip it on and off your wrist with gentle care. We suggest you roll the bracelet gently on and off your hand instead of overly-stretching the bracelet. Keep the stretching to a minimum.
